Weeds of National Significance & Declared Weed List (PDF format)

  1. Acacia bailyeana, A. dealbata, A. decurrens and A. elata
    to name just a few and all native to eastern Australia. Widely planted in the seventies were eastern Australian acacias

  2. Acacia podalyriifolia - 'Queensland silver wattle' loves the laterite soils of the southwest and is leaping out of gardens into the bush
  3. Acacia iteaphylla - 'Flinders Range wattle' is another wattle that loves the laterite soils here
  4. Bulb - Babiana stricta  and Babiana disticha  - 'Baboon flowers', highly invasive in Perth’s heavier soils

  5. Chamelaucium uncinatum - 'Geraldton Wax' - ‘Informed choice is the key’

  26. Pennisetum alopecuroides - native to east coast of Australia
    Warning   P. alopecuroides is known to strongly self-seed. Therefore it is advisable to cut off the flower heads before they shed their seeds and not to plant the grass near bushland. It has the potential to be invasive in some areas
